Growing up in the 1970's and 80's The Nolan Sisters formed a big part of our weekend entertainment. I seem to remember seeing them on every Saturday night show, they eventually split in 1994 and went on to pastures new. Bernie went on to carve out a very successful acting career including roles in the brilliant Blood Brothers, a stint on The Bill and Brookside.
The Nolans warmed the heart of a nation during 1970's whilst also providing the soundtrack to many a party. I have a very clear memory as a little girl of swirling around in my favourite red polka dot skirt and gypsy top to 'I'm in the mood for dancing'. You will be missed Bernie.
