A SUNNY weekend of art, cake and Columbia Rd flowers

The sun shone gloriously down upon us this weekend and how grateful we were to feel it's rays on our skin. It's been a while. It felt like the whole of London was out all weekend too. Amazing how a city that gets so bogged down with commuting, long working hours, avoiding eye contact with strangers suddenly opens up to become a friendly and happy place.

We took full advantage of the moderately warmer clime, yesterday morning we drove down the M4 to Reading to join in the fun at the Jelly Open day which coincided with the launch of the Reading Contemporary Arts Fair. The highlight for Matilda was coming face to face with her hero 'Kung Fu Panda' as pictured above.

In the afternoon, we popped along to the Charity Cake Sale organised by the gorgeous Rosie of The Londoner Blog. It took place at the South Kensington restaurant of one of our favourites Bumpkin, the room was absolutely rammed with people and the amazing cakes. Toddlers and small crowded rooms do not mix, so we grabbed some cakes and retreated to the bar downstairs for their delicious
cocktails.

And again Sunday we woke up to the sun pouring through the house, so off we went again. This time to Columbia Road Flower market which was heaving, clearly everyone in London had the same thought as us! After Matilda had had a treat for putting up with the hordes of people ie: a run around the park and armed with flowers, geraniums and ridiculously cheap orchids we ended the afternoon with a big bowl of warming noodles at Song Que. What did you get up to this weekend?
