Busy busy weekend we've just had. After hidding away with our flu bugs last weekend managing to miss the best of the crunchy fresh snow, this weekend we were out out out.
Saturday was all about preening for the a friend's big Birthday bash at the uber cool Shoreditch House. We had a lovely time followed by a very late night visit to Beigel bake in Brick Lane, to stock up on the best beigels in London. Open all night there is always a queue for their amazing Hot Salt beef beigels.
Then yesterday we hot footed it over to Somerset House to catch the amazing Tim Walker exhibition. Alas, it closed yesterday. The three of us loved wandering through the live fairy tale book. His free and childlike imagination is beguiling, the clothes he is photographing become intrinsic to the magical scenarios he creates. My favourite photos were those of Tilda Swinton, Helena Bonham Carter and Stella Tenant whose look is perfect for his otherworldly style. I also loved the exploding bowler hats worn by the Monty Python crew, hilarious. The iconic giant doll is breath taking as it towers above it's admirers.

Matilda then wanted to run around the great vast Courtyard which gave me the opportunity of admiring it's beauty, it's been a while since I've been able to do that. It's worth taking a moment at Somerset House to stop and gaze around your surroundings. Tis a thing of great beauty especially when bathed in sunlight, filled with children playing, adults reading and drinking coffee or eating lunch outside on a beautiful crisp January Sunday. The Valentino Exhibition is on until the 3rd of March so make that your excuse to revisit this spectacular London landmark.
Thank you for reading!
