The whole nation was gripped today by the nail biting tension of the Wimbledon final. A brilliantly exciting match that in the end didn't disappoint. I could hear the shrieks, applause and cheers filling the streets. We jumped for joy, Matilda yelled 'Go Andy Go Andy' tears followed as we felt his obvious relief and joy at winning. I don't think I've ever felt so overcome with emotion while watching sport.
Andy Murray has single handedly reignited our national pride. After the Olympic and Jubilee euphoria we were in need of a major public event. Thank you Andy for allowing us to rediscover our sense of British pride. Well done!
