Somerset by Alice Temperley at John Lewis

There has been a huge amount of publicity in the last few days about Alice Temperley's new collection for John Lewis, so today I took a little peak. And oh my goodness it doesn't disappoint. I've always been a big fan of her whimsical, intricate designs that resemble works of art. Her designs are worn by royalty, with Kate Middleton especially championing her work, as well as a long list of celebrities including Florence Welch, Sarah Jessica Parker and Halle Berry amongst others. So quintessentially English, I've always dreamt of owning one of her creations and walking through a meadow on a Spring day carrying a posy of wild flowers. Maybe now I'll have my wish granted.

Despite the very accessible prices, this collection does not skimp on design or quality. I particularly fell in love with the lace empire line, long dress pictured above.  The epitome of romanticism and elegance it is simply stunning. Just as well my size is out of stock otherwise I might just be tempted to blow the budget and have it hanging in my wardrobe. In the meantime, I may just have to go through the whole collection to see what is actually in stock!
