Today we have all woken up to the news of yet another lost legend. Whitney Houston formed a huge part of my teenage years and provided the soundtrack to so many of our house parties in the mid-late 80's in South West London and, indeed across the world. Her voice was rich, smooth and effortless, I always dreamed of singing like her. She seemed to be a beautiful person both inside and out, but once again drink and drugs began the downfall of someone who seemingly was such a pure person.
My heart goes out to all her family and friends, but especially to her little girl. I cannot imagine what she must be going through right now and for a long time yet.
This was my all time favourite song of hers that we screeched along to at many a party under the influence of a couple of Thunderbirds. Brings back so many good memories and this is how I'll always remember the iconic Whitney Houston:
