Our Portuguese Christmas

We were so relieved to get to Portugal on the 22nd. We were literally on our knees by the time we got there, not helped by the obscene flight time from Gatwick. Yes, we had to leave home at 3am...

Christmas was quiet but filled with plenty of delicious food, sweet treats and good wine. Matilda adored all the attention lavished on her, and was equally amazed that Father Christmas managed to find her at her Grandparents house. She was super excited about leaving him a mince pie, a little glass of Port and some carrots for Rudolph to munch on. She was even more excited the following morning when the port had been drunk, the carrots and mince pies gone but for a few crumbs.

The weather wasn't quite so favourable to us this year, a lot of rain and wind with only a few days of sun and perfect blue skies. Undeterred we still made it to the beach for a couple of brief run arounds, and small dose of Vitamin D, which will hopefully help us through the gloomy months ahead. It was a great, much needed break that did our little family the world of good. Now back to reality and routine...
