Our French adventure

Where has Summer gone? Seems like yesterday the school holidays began and now we've just got a few days left before the Autumn term starts in earnest. As I took Matilda to her music class this afternoon signs of Autumn or a warm Summer were evident, brown leaves scattered over the pavement crunching beneath our feet. Summer feels like it is beginning to leave us making way for one of my favourite seasons.

We got back from our French holiday in the early hours of this morning, unaided by the long stream of roadworks both in France and once we'd reached our fair England. Consequently today has been a slow day catching up with emails, laundry, cleaning the thin layer of dust left by the builder whilst we were away. On the plus side we have a new bathroom floor and lights in the front room and bedroom.

We spent the majority of our precious time in France, in a beautiful gite hidden away in the mountains surrounding the small village of Caunes-Minervois in the sun baked Languedoc region of Southern France.

This is what we got up to and had the pleasure of seeing over the last couple of weeks...
