So Halloween is over and it's time to turn our attention to Bonfire night. I'm a huge fan of it, I love getting into the spirit of it with roasted sausages or a big warming chilli, chestnuts and marshmallows with sparklers lighting up the garden.
I'm a lucky lady as we live round the corner from Bishops Park in Fulham where each year a wonderful firework display is laid on by the council (at a £7 price). There is a children's display at 7.15 then the main display at 8pm. This year's theme was Bond, James Bond. Entertainment is provided by a funfair, rides, win a teddy bear stalls and the usual burger vans as well as a mulled wine/cider van. It took place last Friday and it was Matilda's very first firework display. She threw herself into the spirit of the night with her neon windmill, she marvelled at every explosion of beautiful lights and screeched at the bangs.
After the children's display we retreated home so she could watch the main display from the garden as that would certainly have been too loud on her little ear drums. All in all, it was a successful first foray into the world of fireworks for our little, nearly three year old!

This is her and her daddy enjoying the pink sky.
Aww, lovely, did you know that my James is a local to you?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Do you know I thought I saw him in the Summer on the Fulham Road, but forgot to ask you. I shall look out for him and if you're ever visiting him, please pop in for a cuppa and a slice of cake!
