A weekend of food, fun and laughter

When this particular group of good friends of mine get together, you can guarantee it will be a gastronomic affair. I purposely avoid any food for at least 12 hours before any of our culinary reunions. Saturday night was a mixture of Ottolenghi, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and recipes from various Food Bloggers, providing a wonderful feast that was a pleasure to both look at and eat. The flavours enhanced each other perfectly, what a treat!

Created mostly by my dear friend Helena Fleming, a Food Product Developer for Marks and Spencer, she is the one responsible for all those tasty salads so many of us pick up on the run. As you can tell from the photographs her eye for colour, flavour combination and presentation is second to none.

Sunday was Matilda's turn at her good friend Finn's third birthday party with a Pirate and Princess theme. Pirate escapades provided endless fun for all, including the parents. It'll be Matilda's turn next Sunday as she turns three, where has time gone?
