A Postcard from Grantchester in the sun and the rain

Our search for the perfect village to move to continues. As the day started off beautifully we took to the M11 to explore the countryside North of Saffron Walden towards Cambridge. After driving around for a while casing several villages, hopefully my snail like speed didn't perturb the residents too much. As we weren't far we decided a treat was in order. We couldn't think of anything better than the picturesque Orchard Teas Rooms are in Grantchester just on the outskirts of Cambridge, set in magical orchards which today were glistening after heavy rain. Luckily there was a short break in the rain when the sun came out allowing us to go for a quick walk to admire the bountiful, jewel like apples. The heavens opened once again to spoil our good intentions of walking along the River Cam through the meadows up to Cambridge, so back we came on the M11. Let's keep everything crossed the sun comes out for us tomorrow. Hope you're having a great bank holiday so far!
