Ha long Bay, Vietnam

When the weather is as terrible as it has been this week, I hit the laptop and revisit photos from past holidays to cheer me up. Today was the turn of our honeymoon. We are coming up to our main wedding anniversary so I guess that's why Vietnam popped into my mind. Unlike most couples we didn't go and flake out on a deserted island and do nothing for 2 weeks. Oh no, we spent three weeks glampacking. Glampacking is my invention which means travelling around with our backpacks but staying in lovely hotels organised by an independent travel agency. We travelled with Audley Travel who were amazing, basically they organise trips for people like us who were once backpackers, but who in their 'old age' like a little luxury and comfort yet also want to retain the traveller feel.

We started off in Bangkok followed by Cambodia, Vietnam then a few days in Hong Kong at the end of the honeymoon. We had an incredible trip, I do long to return to Vietnam to explore a little more. Here are some photos from our trip to Ha Long Bay where we stayed on a luxury junk boat for the night. Hope they inspire you to want to visit this extraordinary part of the world.
