Happy New Year to all my readers! Hope you saw 2012 in well with those you love and cherish. I was at home with the husband and Matilda, who stayed up until 9.30pm (she was having a ball). We began the day with a brisk walk around Syon House which set me up for the afternoon of cooking. The menu consisted of Prawn Cocktail with smoked salmon, Homemade Chicken and Ham Pie with Horseradish mash and sauteed leeks and French green beans. The piece de resistence was my Nigel Slater's Mincemeat Trifle which was magnificent and tasted out of this world! I didn't have any Sherry so doused the sponge in Port which went down very well. It was the perfect at home New Years Eve with my little family, we watched Kung Fu Panda 2 followed by Joe Wright's film Hanna then the great Jools Holland.
I hope whatever you were doing was as much fun and relaxed as our family evening! We're off soon for a Friends get togerther, so if you're off out or home suffering with a raging head - have a fabulous day and I look forward to more adventures in 2012.
Happy New Year!!!!
