My favourite Baking Books Part 2...

Yesterday I took you round my favourite cookery books, today it's the turn of my Baking friends. Having a very sweet tooth has never been too good for my diet but it has made me a reasonable Baker. From big old fashioned layer cakes to delicate Macarons, I can turn my hand to most things. Not only do I like making sweet delicious treats but I LOVE walking into a cafe heaven and ordering a coffee and big slice of cake.

My old faithfuls are the Humingbird (both books), Nigella's Domestic Goddess, Love Bakery and The Magnolia Bakery. I do go through phases where I'll just cook everything in one book then put it down for a few months, but they are my prize possessions so I always return, I couldn't be without my books! I've found Matilda is developing a passion for thumbing through cookery books or food magazines, examining the beautiful photography saying 'mmmm' at every page, this girl knows what she likes, just like Mummy.

The places in London that make me tingle and excite my taste buds are as follows:

Hummingbird Bakery, various london branches but the best for me is Portobello Road http://hummingbirdbakery.com/

Love Bakery in the glorious King's Road http://www.lovebakery.co.uk/

Primrose Hill Bakery in the picturesque Primrose Hill  http://www.primrosebakery.org.uk/index.php

As pictured below Treacle in the vibrant Columbia Road http://www.treacleworld.com/html/awright_treacle.html

Get yourselves eating cake, it's good for you!
